We had a customer bring us a 2021 RZR Pro XP that suffered some damage due to a couple of roll overs through the past year. First roll over damaged the passenger side, the second it went head first over a dune and onto its windshield. The customer was looking to get the following work completed
Fix all rollover damage, including replace broken plastics, body panels, and windshield
Install custom doors made by MotoArmor
Upgrade the factory springs with Zbros
Install new rock guards
Install a new rear bumper
Install new whips
Install new light bar
Rollover Damage
There was a good amount of damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. In the end, most of the plastics on the passenger side was replaced. Because the author did not think about taking the pics of the damage, here is what it looked like when all impacted parts were removed:
All parts were ordered, including an OEM front windshield. All new parts were installed. Here is the finished product:
Door Installation
The customer wanted to upgrade the doors, so the stock doors were removed and new one piece aluminum doors from MotoArmor were installed. Overall, the door installation was not overly complicated, once you did the first door. The instructions were not the best and there were various parts that you needed from the old doors, as well as the screws and other hardware. Personally, if a company is going to charge you a fair penny for their product, they should include the screws. Using the OEM latches I can see. But come on, provide the nuts and bolts. Once the latches and heim joint hinges were installed, the installation was pretty straight forward. Here is the driver side once it was completed:
Shock Spring Upgrade
The RZRs use a dual spring set up and over time, the springs wear out. Its meant to. Like the doors, they were not overly complicated, after you get through the first one and understand there are a couple nuances. Nuances figured out, the springs were installed and the sagging rear end was gone.
Final result
Start to end, it took approximately 3 weeks to turn this machine back to the customer. We were able to do most of the upgrades to the driver side (ie install the doors, rock guards, etc) and the springs while we waited for the OEM parts to come in. The overall performance of the shocks gave the customer the ride and responsiveness they were looking for.
